Swan Mountain Outfitters is a premier, full-service outfitter providing year-round recreation in and around Glacier National Park and the Bob Marshall Wilderness.

During the summer, Swan Mountain Outfitters is based out of the Crown of the Continent Discovery Center. Located just a mile and a half from the west entrance of Glacier National Park, the Discovery Center is the ideal ''one-stop-shop'' for your Glacier Country adventure. Explore their interpretive exhibits about the flora and fauna, geology and cultural heritage of the region. Enjoy Montana-made espresso drinks and teas, pints of locally crafted beer and unique Montana-made cocktails at the Coffee and Spirits Bar. Indulge in delicious Montana-made ice cream at Luke n Duke's Ice Cream Parlor. Eat at their authentic Mexican restaurant. Spend time at their Gift & Gear Shop featuring a large selection of made in Montana products as well as a wide array of top-notch outdoor gear for all of your recreation needs.

Want to explore the great Montana wilderness with a guide? The Discovery Center is also the main office for Swan Mountain Outfitters. They are the sole provider of horseback rides within Glacier National Park, offering trail rides at the Apgar, Lake McDonald and Many Glacier horse corrals. Additionally, they have trail ride locations outside of the Park in West Glacier and the Swan Valley. For a more extensive horseback experience, their Bob Marshall Wilderness pack trips are three, five or six days in length and are a unique way to combine camping, wilderness and wildlife viewing on a horseback vacation. Nestled at the edge of the Bob Marshall Wilderness, their traditional outfitter camp provides an unparalleled setting for an authentic Montana horseback riding adventure.

Northwest Montana is renowned as a top fly-fishing destination in the U.S., and this reputation is well deserved. Anglers from all over the world come here to fish for rainbow, bull, brook and native cutthroat trout. Swan Mountain Outfitters offer half- and full-day guided fly-fishing float trips down the Swan River, fly-fishing lessons and clinics as well as daily fly-fishing or spin-cast excursions throughout the Swan Valley. Several guests combine the wilderness pack trips with a mountain fly-fishing adventure by focusing their pack trip in the Bob Marshall Wilderness on accessing native cutthroat trout in the ultimate wilderness setting. The richness of Swan Mountain’s surroundings allows them to meet the needs of virtually every type of angler.

For guests who prefer to hit the trail with their own two feet, Swan Mountain Llama Trekking is a wildly fun way to hike Western Montana, and it’s one of those totally unique experiences you’ve likely never done before. Llama treks allow you to hike into the mountains or forest without having to carry your gear, because a llama does it for you! This makes hiking logistically more enjoyable. Plus, it’s fun for the whole family to spend time with these friendly and fascinating beasts. Swan Mountain guides are ready to accommodate you on a llama trek whether you have two hours, an overnight, or a whole week for a pack trip into the backcountry.

In the fall, Swan Mountain has access to thousands of acres of hunting areas in the Flathead National Forest, the Swan River State Forest and the famed Bob Marshall Wilderness. These areas support a number of elk herds and ample populations of trophy white-tailed deer, trophy mule deer and color-phased black bears. Swan Mountain offers a variety of guided hunting trips for archery and rifle hunters alike, including traditional deer and elk horseback hunts in the backcountry and in the front range of the Swan Mountains in outfitter camps. They can also offer guided moose, goat and mountain lion hunts to those hunters fortunate enough to draw those tags.

During the winter, Swan Mountain Snowmobiling provides the ultimate snowmobiling experience. They offer hotel pickup, operate at more trailheads than any other outfitter and offer the Flathead Valley’s ONLY two-hour guided “Quickie” snowmobile tours as well as the longest continuous guided tour! Whether you want to be personally taken care of on one of their guided snowmobile tours or brave the backcountry on your own with their snowmobile rentals, they have what you need for a thrilling winter adventure.
